Verse of the Week - Philippians 2:4

I hope you all had a great week! There's not much to report at the moment. Things are pretty much the same as last week. I am really excited about a few things in the near future though!
1. I am going with Krystal to do a wedding in Florida at the end of February! It will be my first "traveling job" with her, and waht better place than Florida? It's going to be beautiful!
2. The Knutson Klan is coming in April! I will be traveling with them which could be interesting, but fun at the same time!
3. My birthday is in a few weeks! Two weeks from yesterdy to be exact! I can't believe I will be 20!! That's so crazy.

Anyway, here is the verse of the week I promised!

Philippians 2:4
Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.

This verse is a big reminder that the world doesn't revolve around us! We aren't here on earth to make ourselves more comfortable, but to serve each other for the glory of God. The entire 2nd chapter of Philippians is about Christ being the ultimate example of putting self aside to serve others. CJ Mahaney wrote an awesome book called "Huimity:True Greatness". It is a book that I would recommend to anyone! It really makes you reevaluate the motives you have behind everything you do. It forces you to ask the difficut questions about yourself. Are you truely serving someone to glorify God or are you doing it in hopes of getting brownie points for it? It is an easy read and a must have! As is the book of Philippians! :)

Have a great week!

A verse of the week...

Hello All,

I know it has been a little while since my last post. Sorry about that! I've been thinking about what I could do to be sure I at least get one post in a week if not every few days. So I thought I would start doing a verse of the week. One a week is not nearly enough, but it's a start! In my room I have a dry erase board that is half things I need to remember (b/c I've learned that if I don't write it down I will never remember!) and the other half is some of my favorite verses. Anyway, here is the one for this week. Hopefully, in the future I will remember to do this on Mondays or at least toward the beginning of the week!

Hebrews 13:1
Let brotherly love continue.

A friend, that recently moved, sent me this verse this week in a note. It is a short verse with endless importance. It is a small reminder that with out love we can accomplish nothing in other's spiritual walk. What good is evangelism without love?Evangelism is a form of showing love. You love them enough to tell them what they have been missing out on! The infinite grace of God! When we look at all God has given us it all leads back to how much He unconditionally loves us. The rest of Hebrews 13 goes on to remind us of all those who we should pray for and love other than ourselves! It says to love those who you do not feel led to love, but that God loved us when we didn't deserve it too. So who are we to neglect others from the same pleasure of knowing Christ? What better way to love someone?

Back to Square One

So, I didn't get the nanny job. Which is ok, but I'm now back to square one on the job search. Hopefully, something comes up soon! Until then, I'm continuing with Mint & Sage, which is going great, and I will start watching kids at the women's biblestudy at church. Well, have a great weekend!!

The job search might be coming to a close!

So i've kinda been stressing about find a consistant job, since I have recently decided not to go back to school. I applied at Williams-Sanoma at the mall but haven't hear dback from them, so I continued my search. Tuesday night, while waiting for midnight to come around, I was looking at the craigslist.org and looked for any babysitting/nanny jobs in my area. And I found one! It sounds like it will be perfect for my crazy schedule! It's only about 10 minutes from home and only four days a week, 6 hours a day! Though six hours sounds like a lot, however, this is a newborn so it shouldn't be too bad. It will be a whole lot easier than chasing 3 or 4 year olds around! Anyway, I replied to the ad and she wrote back wanting to meeting me. I go to interview Friday morning. Pray for me! This job would be so great! It still allows time for me to work for Mint and Sage and continue my once a week babysitting job. Not to mention I wouldn't have to worry about getting Saturdays off for weddings with Krystal. Does God provide or what?!? If for some reason i dont get this job, I guess my search will continue. In which case I will still need prayer! I have faith in Him! He hasn't failed me yet! I find it pretty amazing that I'm almost 20 (that alone amazes me!) and I've never had to work in a store or a restraunt yet! God has just kept providing me with these amazing jobs where I can help other's and still make the money I need to get by. Some have called it being lazy for not getting a "real job", but I figure if God didn't want me doing what I'm doing, He wouldn't be providing them. Praise God! Anyway, that's what's going on right now! Hope you all had a great New Year's! Thank God for this past year and the work he has done and may he bless the one to come!
